KOGI Pekanbaru XVIII " A journey to remember"

KOGI is an event that is routinely held every three years, where the participants come from POGI Representatives throughout Indonesia This year, Pekanbaru is entrusted to be the host for the XVIII KOGI. In this activity POGI Bali also participated by sending contingents including specialist doctors and residents.

Almost all of the contingents from POGI Bali have never visited Kota Pekanbaru,  hence this is a valuable opportunity for the contingents to get to know the city of Pekanbaru and its culture more closely. The contingent departed from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on July 22 2022 at around 08.30 WITA and arrived at Sultan Syarif Qasim International airport at around 18.00 WIB, the journey was quite draining because the contingents had a  5-hour transit at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. 

Arriving in Pekanbaru the contingents were welcomed with regional specialties, namely Patin fish and several other menus. Those who love Padang cuisine might as well love Pekan Baru's cuisine since the distinctive taste of Pekan Baru's cuisine is similar to Padang's.

During their stay in Pekanbaru, the contingents were busy with various kinds of activities consisting of sports and scientific activities, the sports activities that were competed were, among others, Futsal, Badminton and Tennis, while in the scientific competitions there were Poster and Oral Presentation competitions. 

The process that is carried out wholeheartedly brought heartwarming results to all the contingents. That's the right word to describe the efforts of specialist and senior doctors, POGI Bali succeeded in bringing home 3 trophies, 2 from badminton and 1 from tennis. To add the happy news, Bali was chosen as the host for the next KOGI event in 2025.
